Michele and Jeff

Michele Case Richardson is a native of Naples, NY,  right in the heart of the Finger Lakes wine region of New York. Michele is a graduate of Syracuse University and East Carolina University's Master's of Nursing program. Michele works as a clinical nurse specalist in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Crouse Hospital is the regional NICU for Central New York, serving 19 counties. She has 3 boys ages 7,11 and 13. Michele and Jeff were married in 2012.

Michele began running about 10 years ago when she decided it was time to get healthier and more fit. She started slowly with walking and incorporated running in short intervals. She slowly started to introduce more and more running in her workouts. In Michele's first race she finished just ahead of the police car that was following the racing field. Michele now competes in triathlons, duathlons and road races of every distance from 5k to half marathons. Michele also participates in Ride for the Cure each year as she was a gestational diabetic and continually is battling against diabetes and avoiding having to be treated. Michele has won several age group races and numerous top 3 awards.

 

Jeff Richardson is a native of Oswego, NY on the southern shores of Lake Ontario. Jeff is a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center College of Nursing and also holds a Bachelors Degree in nursing from Keuka College. Jeff also works in the neonatal intensive care unit at Crouse Hospital  in Syracuse.Jeff has 2 boys ages 8 and 17. 

Jeff started running again in 2009 after meeting Michele at work. His first competitive race was a 3k in which he won his 10 year age group and finished 9th overall in just over 12 minutes. He had a very succesful running career in high school which included a Sectonal 3 championship for Oswego High School in 1991. In 2008 Jeff had been diagnosed with 3 thoracic vertebral herniations. Running has helped Jeff avoid surgery and made him pain free for over 4 years. Much thanks to Michele for encouraging him to run and stay fit. Jeff has several age division wins including numerous overall top 10's in races of lengths of 3k to half marathons.
